A Little About Paul Allen

Paul Allen is an Instructor in the U.A. Whitaker College of Engineering, Department of Software Engineering. Mr. Allen has software engineering experience in private and public organizations as a developer, manager, and trainer. Mr. Allen previously worked as an assistant director of application development at Florida South Western State College, assistant director and programmer analyst at Florida Gulf Coast University, developer at the Lee County Tax Collectors Office, a software engineer at Fischer International Systems Corporation in Naples, and as a programmer analyst at several other private and family businesses. Mr. Allen is a retired Chief Warrant Officer III from the Florida Army National Guard with 23 years of service as a helicopter pilot. He primarily served as a MEDEVAC pilot in air ambulance units and had one combat tour in Iraq, and numerous activations for hurricanes, floods, and other humanitarian and state operations.
